Many yoga mat washes are full of harsh chemicals and you don't want to be laying there, on your mat, next to them. Cleaning with essential oils is easy plus you're not using chemicals which is even better.
While the essential oil smell isn't very strong on the mat once dry, you can try different oils depending on your preference.
Do It Yourself Wash For Yoga Mats
Fill a 4oz glass spray bottle (I buy mine here)
- 2 3/4 oz distilled water
- 1 oz alcohol free witch hazel
- 6 drops Melaleuca (Alternifolia) Essential Oil (aka tea tree oil) (I buy mine here)
- 3 drops lavender essential oil (I buy mine here)
- 2 drops peppermint essential oil (I buy mine here)
- 2 drops Purification essential oil (I buy mine here)
Combine all ingredients and pour into spray bottle. It is important to shake up your mixture before each use.
